This week's article is about getting clearer skin with twenty five simple steps. I know we usually don't have much time, but believe me when I say spending fifteen minutes of your night before you go to bed in this routine, will get you a baby face everyone will be jealous about! 

1. Give yourself some time during your day to destress

Research shows that stress can actually mess with your hormones, causing you to break out. If you have time, spend 30 minutes to an hour a day doing something that helps you relax, like yoga, walking, or jogging! Whatever helps you.

Investing in SPF moisturizer is a MUST in order to get clear skin. Not only does SPF protect you from the sun’s rays, but it helps reduce sun damage and marks.

10. Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is essential for everyone. Make sure you drink more than just 8 cups of water a day! Staying hydrated is great for your skin’s complexion and elasticity.

11. Do a Weekly Face Mask

Doing a weekly face mask should definitely be in your skincare routine. Switch up the mask every week to adjust to your skin. So if it’s dry you can do a moisturizing mask, or if it’s dull you can do a vibrating face mask.

12. Add Avocados to Your Diet

The minerals and antioxidants in avocados work wonders on your skin whether you’re indjusting it or making a face mask. It’s high in Vitamin C and E, which is great when your body makes collagen.

13. Get in the Sauna

Heavy sweating might seem like a turn off, but sweating a lot actually does a cleansing effect on your skin. Sweating, whether it’s by a sauna or just working out, clears out your pores and flushes impurities out.

14. Drink a Cup of Green Tea Everyday

Green tea is great for your digestive system but it can actually be great for your skin as well. Drinking a cup of green tea a day can help your skin from aging and sun damage.

15. Steam Facials

Doing at home steam facials are great if you’re trying to remove any pores or blackheads. Steam opens up your pores, making it easier to extract anything that’s blocking them!

16. Cucumber Water

Cucumber water is high in Vitamin B-5, which is used to treat acne. Putting slices of cucumber in your water helps your skin as well as your digestive system! It also adds a great taste to your water!
Cucumber water has many potential health benefits, including hydration, weight loss, lowering blood pressure, and skin health. It is easy to make and is an excellent substitute for popular, sugary vitamin waters.
Potassium is key to muscle energy and can help with muscle recovery. Cucumber is a good source of potassium, making cucumber water a good choice for an active person and people with sore muscles.

17. DON’T Touch Your Face

That pimple might seem like it’s ready to pop but DON’T touch it! Touching your face does more harm than good and can actually make you break out even more.

18. DON’T Over Wash Your Face

Washing your face excessively throughout the day can cause your skin to dry out, so make sure you don’t over do it!

19. Exfoliate Once to Twice a Week

Exfoliating at least once a week is a great way to clear your skin. Exfoliating your skin takes off all the dead and dirty skin cells that are on your face. Remember to only exfoliate TWICE a week at most. Overexfoliating can cause minor damage to your skin.

20. Make Sure you Get Enough Sleep

Studies have shown that not getting enough sleep can make you break out. Doctors recommend that you get 7 to 9 hours of good sleep every night!

21. Look at What’s in Your Skin Care Products

It’s always important to check what ingredients are in your skincare products. Some moisturizers might seem great, but they can sometimes be packed with TONS of harsh chemicals. Always make sure you’re using clean products.
“Natural” products can contain just as many harmful ingredients as conventional products. 

Even products labeled “unscented” can contain fragrances. 


The only way to know for sure if there are harmful ingredients in your makeup or skincare products is to read the label. But even then, not every ingredient has to be listed, as some formulations (like for fragrance) are considered “trade secrets” and don’t have to be disclosed. 

Be careful and read the ingredients, get information about them and how they affect your skin.

22. Rose Water

Rose Water can be found in most stores and it’s great for your skin. Rose water is known to help skin inflammation and reduce the redness on your face.

23. Try Eating Hormone Free Meat

Many people have said switching to a vegan diet has improved their acne. If you’re not ready for that giant life change, just try cutting out foods with extra added hormones, like meat or dairy.

24. Switch to Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is a great snack, plus it’s high in antioxidants, so it’ll help with inflammation and redness on your skin!

25. Don’t Forget to Change Your Pillowcase!

Your body flushes out oils while you're asleep, so it’s important to change your pillowcase often!
